cover:
In California's Sacramento Valley, six people meet once a month to discuss Jane Austen's novels. They are ordinary people, neither happy nor unhappy, but all wounded in different ways, all mixed up about their lives and their relationships. Over the six months they meet marriages are tested, affairs begin, unsuitable arrangements become suitable and, under the guiding eye of Jane Austen, some of them even fall in love...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I read this in 2005 and really enjoyed it back then. I was going to read it again before sending it to J4shaw, upon whose wishlist it sits, but a dip into it here and there let me to think that I wouldn't enjoy it so much a 2nd time. Having found the few pages I did read rather annoying I decided not to spoil it for myself - I don't think I could stand Jocelyn again.
I gave it an 8 the first time & I'm sticking with that. A study of people studying Jane Austen's books, it's a quick, easy read & I devoured it rapidly & with gusto at the time.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Thanks for Tagging me, this may well make the cut to come travelling with me next week when I go to Asia.
This book has travelled with me, and was read while in England & (mostly) Southern France.
It is probably about as chic-lit as I can stand these days.
I can certainly say that it made me wish I'd read more Austen!
Releasing this one soon at my next pit-stop to grant a Wishlist RABCK.
This is off as a Wishlist RABCK which ties in nicely with this thread

I arrived in Naples Italy this morning and conveniently there is a Post Office next to my Hotel!
Ufficio Postale di Napoli
I have no idea if it's going via sea, air or goat!
The language barrier at the post office was impossible.

It came to me safely, thank you very much for sending it to me J4shaw! I can only imagine that language you were hearing there :D So my next challenge is to read it from cover to cover... You'll hear me (a bit) later...
