He knows her secrets. He kills for sport. He’s already brought death to Bakersville and forever shattered the community. But what he has really come for is Rainie-and he won’t leave until he has destroyed her.

Partly a romance, mainly a detective book trying to figure out 'why' as much as 'who'. The relationship between Rainie and Pierce grows but is not sorted at the end of the book. These are two complicated people with complicated lives, and getting together was never going to be easy.

The subject matter is one which will not appeal to some readers, as it's a touchy subject. But overall I thought it was well done, and raises questions about the whys and hows of school shootings.
