Picked up today and read a bit of it as I was having lunch and decided to carry on with it. I have a renewed interest in female sci-fi authors particularly of the 1970's and 1980's so will read with an eye on any feminist themes.
The struggle for Mary the main character to find her own power and move away from a powerful male character in the book seems to be a comment on the political landscape of women's rights in the 1970's and early 80's in the western world.
But what the main character does with that eventual power could spark many a debate - so worth a read to find out ..........

Great read, origin and dealing with some interesting themes!!
