From back:The end of innocence....In 1845, Thoreau found the meaning of life at Walden Pond. Now police are searching for the meaning of death there - the grisly work of a cunning serial killer with a unique calling card. Is he on an ideological misson? Or does a more personal passion drive his deadly actions?
Psychiatrist Harry Kline needs answers and needs them fast - because he may be harboring the murderer under his own roof.
Kline is drawn into the center of the horrific case - as his search for a killer turns into a harrowing struggle between evil and an innocent place. A struggle between a serial killer who calls himself the True Believer and Kline, who has everything to live for and maybe nothing left to lose.....

Just finished this book and found it to be along the lines of Alex Kava and Iris Johansen. This is good as they are on my list of fave authors and I try to follow each new book that come out. Now I have another author to fill in any blanks while waiting for another book to come out. As you may know from preious comments about books if a book has an easy flow to it's story that is a major plus in "my book". I like the charactors and would like to get to know them more as I understand that I can if I pick up the rest of the Harry Kline novels. "Forgive us our Sins", "Deliver us from Evil", and "Pray for us Sinners". Which I just might have to do.

Released on Wednesday, January 07, 2004 at Fellow bookcrosser in Bonaire, Georgia USA.

Sending this book as trade for "The Soul Catcher" by Alex Kava.
Thanks meshe for the trade.

Finished this book over the weekend and enjoyed it. I like the characters in the book and would probably have enjoyed it more had I read the previous books first. Harry Kline is a psychiatrist with an interesting family. The story moved quickly and I hadn't figured out the killer until I was well into the book. Thanks for sharing this with me. It's off to xallroyx for the SSS.

Finally got to read this and really liked it. I started it this morning and I finished it by bedtime. Although I had an inkling who the killer was there was a surprise at the end. The subplot of Harry Kline's life and problems was good too and made the story real.

I have a note in it that I wrote when I got it to send it back to xallroyx. So I'm going to do that if she still wants it.
