I have not read this novel. I bought it at an ARC book sale.
I finally read this novel, and I loved it. I found many of Sayuri's observations poetic. Although at times I felt she was foolish to hold out hope for the Chairman, I thought Sayuri matured well. Also, I learned quite a bit about geisha.

Aunt Jan has this book now, and then my mom would like to read it.
My niece Andi left the book for me to read (Christmas 2005). When I finally read it, I couldn't put it down. My sister Jan wanted to read it, so I took it to Destin, Florida, in June 2006 to give to her. She's reading it now.
