Political\scientific thriller. It soon becomes obvious what has happened so the reader is left wondering how it happened and who's behind it. The author's obviously done extensive research. At times there's a bit too much scientific terminology - I didn't find lists of plankton all that interesting. The plot's interesting and the plot twist at the end surprised me.
