Looks interesting.

I read until the middle where the pictures are. I learned quite a bit about Cuban history, which was excellent, but didn't find the narrator at all witty or entertaining. If there had been just a little more humor or observations that weren't car related...

I'm not sure what I'll do with this book next.

My wife found the book laying at our apartment door in Corvallis Oregon. My wife is Cuban, recently arrived. I am Cuban in my heart and have made two month-long visits. Gebler's accounts are tinted by his Capitalist orientation, but the diversions into chapters of Cuban history are excellent and detailed. His facts are not always correct: The giant rock painting in the Pinol del Rio area is by Diego Rivera, the famous Mexican muralist; he attributed it to someone called "Garcia", a Cuban.
