Another book club read.. and one I really enjoyed. Carey is one of Australia's best novelists and this one didn't disappoint. At times the narrative 'dragged' a little.. but Carey on on 'off' day is still better than most other authors at their peak! Hopefully a new reader will enjoy this one too!

Picked up at the convention. Lining up in my Peter Carey pile...

Finally got to this book last year whilst on holidays in Europe. I have my ups and downs with Peter Carey and this was a really slow start for me, but once they are in America it is a rollicking ride and a very funny one at that. Time to let it go.

To be released at the Melbourne BC monthly meetup. As we have overseas visitors this book might be offshore-bound again!

Picked up today during our special meetup. Onto my TBR pile. Looking forward to the read.

A great historical novel around an adolescent France and a young America and the characters involved.
