This book isn't really what I expected, however I enjoyed it. Specially the part that involves Rembrandt, Marvell and Amelia Dahl.
The story that occurs in modern Britain is not that interesting :-( I think it is too predictable. :-(

See here the famous autoportraits of Rembrandt

This book is now going on a bookring. Here's the list of participants:

Kiddie - Lisboa
Sossap - Lisboa
Elsita - Almada

Was a bit disappointed in this book .. The historical part is much better than the contemporary one, but I didn't like the story that much .. Anyway, I 've learnt a lot about Rembrandt that I didn't know about (had no idea he had such a disgraceful life towards the end ...). But the modern story is just too confusing and the characters are not very appealing, even Amy.

Will be handed to mady on our next BC meeting.

It's now with me as I got it today at a lovely picnic in Lagoa de Albufeira - a great afternoon!! And it seems that bookrings are attacking me again, maybe they'll help me get my addiction back? ;) Thanks Fflloorr and Tho!

I've finally finished this one... and I'm another dissapointed person :( Neither of the stories caught my interest and I found that no character was really built, they all remained misterious, even in the end. I'll now give it to Kiddie next.

Journal Entry 10 by Kiddie from Paris, Ile-de-France France on Wednesday, August 11, 2004
Obrigada.

Journal Entry 11 by Kiddie from Paris, Ile-de-France France on Monday, August 23, 2004

Estou a ler, estou a ler! Get out of my sholders, ok?Tnks (lol)

This is the second book I've read about Rembrandt's life...
And thought this is not the perfect story, I liked it beter than the other one ;)
I loved the parts about Amelia and Rembrandt...hated Don's story, the book didn't won nothing with it...

The other book is Rembrandt's Whore.

Finally I've read it.
And I have enjoy it a lot. Maybe because I didn´t have too much expectations.
In the beginning it was difficult to enter in the story. But I did love it all.

Thanks fflloor for the excelent book.
Is going to Xanocas now.

Journal Entry 18 by Xanocas on Friday, April 7, 2006
I've finally finished it.

Sorry everyone!

Well, I liked the plot (modern and old), however the end was to predictable and easy.

In the whole, it's a good story.

Journal Entry 19 by bookmanu from Cascais, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Wednesday, May 17, 2006

Journal Entry 22 by Moimeme from Famões, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Friday, March 30, 2007
