Well-written and easy-to-read, this book is a series of writings about the author's experiences as the owner of an old farmhouse in France. The book was published in the 1990's. The author owned the farmhouse as a second home for about twenty years. So, the author's experiences occurred in the the 1980s and 1990s, possibly the late 1970s. Life was different then: no cell phones, no internet, no obsessions with ridiculous things. It was interesting to read and to learn about life in France during that period of time.

I have finally found the time to read this book! It was enjoyable and super easy to put down and pick up, great for when I only had a few moments here and there. This book will be going on an upcoming trip with me. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
