What if---what if, back in 1854, the peace conference between the northern Cheyenne and U.S. government had succeeded and the 1000 white women, requested by the chief, had been delivered to the tribe? It did not happen. In this book it does. The numbers never get to 1000 but the women are delivered and the story is impelling. The characters move around real historical events convincing the reader that it could have happened. Good read.
