This book took me ages to read. I think it was because I was constantly having to re-read the parts that were taken from documents in the 1500's to understand what was being said. I did enjoy the book though, and learnt quite alot about the Henry VIII and his wives.

600 pages of Tudor goodness! I loved this. I always enjoy anything about The Tudors, there is no one more fascinating in history. I remember first learning about them in Primary school and have been hooked ever since.

I think Alison did a really good job of trying to stay unbiased, however I got the feeling she doesn't care for Jane Seymour but then who does much. She my least favourite out of all of them. Although I've read much about Anne Boleyn and Katherine of Aragon, you don't always get much information about the other wives, which is a shame as they are all so interesting in their own right. It was nice to fill in some of the gaps and see things from new perspectives.

This book is written so it reads like fiction. I didn't find any of it dull and it kept momentum throughout. I would recommend to Tudor fans. I wonder how Henry would feel, knowing that he is not remembered most for any great battle but for his wives? I'm not sure he would be happy about that!

Six Geese a-laying

Picked this because of the Six in the title, also found it ironic that these woman might have been queens longer if they had done a bit more "laying". And the Chocolate eggs are for the laying part. I hope you like them :)

Thank you so much for this book, I remember watching this on tv so many years ago, and I found the Tudors to be so interesting. Wow, it is a really big book, isn't it! Love Summer challenges!!

09/2021 I have tried to read this book a few times over the last few years, but the size kept me from continuing. What I read, I did enjoy but I hope that there is a reader in our group that will enjoy it as much as you did.
