I am not sure that Army Special Agent John Puller has learned his lesson yet, but it seems that whenever he starts to investigate something described as “funny”, it is never funny and in most cases is downright dangerous.

He is dispatched by his (Lt.Gen.) father to check on his aunt (his father’s sister) who lives in Paradise, FL. It seems that she sent a letter to her brother telling him that all is not as it seems in the little beach town of Paradise. She is definitely worried. When John arrives in Florida and goes to visit his aunt, he discovers that she was right to be worries. She is no longer worried because she is dead. It appears to the local police to be an accident. It appears to John to be murder.

I really hate to read David Baldacci books because I do not get much sleep after I start one. This was definitely another one that I could not put down.
