This has been my emergency lunchtime book for the last six months or so, living in my desk to dip into on the days I forgot to bring a book to read in my lunch break. It's a perfect book for that, because it's so densely packed with facts and figures you really wouldn't want to read it in one sitting.
Some of Winchester's attempts to claim uniqueness for the Atlantic are a little forced, but overall the theme works as a way of exploring a huge range of history, geology, biology, and sheer adventure.

Journal Entry 4 by Sherlockfan at -- Wild Released Somewhere In Wellington in Wellington City, Wellington Province New Zealand on Saturday, December 8, 2018
Released 5 yrs ago (12/8/2018 UTC) at -- Wild Released Somewhere In Wellington in Wellington City, Wellington Province New Zealand
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taking with me to meet with other Wellington Bookcrossers for our Christmas get-to-gether - if someone catches it then I know it will not be a wild release BUT if nobody does then we have some folk who maintain release places all over Wellington so it will be a Wild Release.
Sorry FC that it has taken me so long to attend both to reading the book and also to release it. There is nothing like a house-move to energize one! Hope this will be our last one ever until one or other of us gets carried out. Who knows we both may shuffle of this mortal world together - or get shuffled:-)
Wellington Bookcrossers meet on the first Thursday of the month (except Dec & January) at TRAX cafe in the Wellington Railway Station from 5.30 onwards.
PLEASE Check out our website www.bookcrossing.com. Great author to start with.
