This Newbery award winner made it to #28 in the top 100 books challenged or Banned 2000-2009. It made it to #8 in the top 100 challenged books of 1990-1999.
Katherine Patterson's Bridge to Terabithia is a frequent target of religious groups who think the book's references to magic, spells and evil promote Satanism. The accusation is ironic considering the author is the daughter of Christian missionaries and wife of a Presbyterian minister.
