WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Ride for the CureThe 2011 Ride for Diabetes Research raised more than $7.2 million thanks to over 22,000 participants across Canada! We want to thank all of our participants for their hard work and dedication, especially our cabinets, team leaders, and team captains.
This year, our national goal is to raise $7.9 million. With your support we will achieve our target!
The goal of JDRF is to improve the lives of every person affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing the disease. JDRF's Ride for Diabetes Research is exciting and unique! This fast-paced and energetic event brings corporate Canada together in a friendly competition to see who can show the most team spirit and raise the most money.
Teams consist of five Riders, with each team member taking a turn riding a stationary bike for seven minutes, over the course of 40 minutes. Teams ride in one hour intervals, so participation fits into any schedule! Participants return year-after-year because the Ride for Diabetes Research is a highly motivating, great teambuilding event – and lots of fun!
