Back to me?
Veritas9 has started a bookring - yummy! Having enjoyed Fforde's other two Thursday Next books, I am looking forward to this one, and it says there's another one due out next June!
Perhaps not quite as good as the two previous books, but certainly full of literary puns and humor!
And who is behind UltraWorldTM? Could it be Jessica Adams? or Susan Wittig Albert? Thursday Next finds out!

On the way to the next lucky reader.
On the way to the next lucky reader.
This arrived Christmas Eve. I just yesterday finished Lost In A Good Book so the timing was perfect. I have one other book ahead of this one but will get to it asap. Thanks Veritas9 for sharing!
Another fun and clever Thursday Next book! It appears that another one is due this year so maybe we'll get some conclusion to some of the unresolved storylines. But then again, maybe not . . . This is leaving today via Media Mail to Karendawn. Thanks Veritas9 for sharing!
Just pulled the book out of my mailbox. Can't wait to get started on it!
Fantastic! I already can't wait for the next book. You know, I think it's the little details that I especially love. Like Beatrice and Benedict (especially appropriate as I'm teaching Much Ado About Nothing this semester). Flatland as the last original idea (it's been such a long time since I've read Flatland; I should read it again). Subtext lessons with Ibb and Obb (who had just recently been capitalized). The solution for the letter u coming close to running out (regional spelling change). The 8-plot system (I only got the names of 4 plots - Journey of Discovery, Bitter Rivalry/Revenge, Temptation, and Triumph of the Underdog. [well, five if you count Coming of Age, but that would be in the 9-plot system...] Did I overlook any? I'm curious about this list). The rage counselling session in Wuthering Heights (don't want to go the way of Titus Andronicus). Oh, I could go on and on.
There were some sad moments in this book (especially Chapter 25) and some scary moments (UltraWordTM). Very enjoyable all together.

Received from karendawn - thank you. and thank you veritas9. I've already started reading, more when I've finished...
This was the first Jaspar Fforde book I'd read (I suspect I will end up reading them in completely the wrong order!) and I was very impressed. As others have said, the detail is amazing - I especially liked the Wuthering Heights rage counselling session, and watching ibb and obb develop.
Theresa-A is taking a break from BC-ing, so I'm sending this on to Lucycat this week.

A top trip to my local sorting office to collect this one today...I've been getting so many bits and bobs delivered lately that they've actually started hoarding my parcels - I thought I just had one to pick up, and there were *three*! Lucky old me! :O)
Thanks so much to Veritas9 for starting this ring in the first place (can't *wait* to find out What Thursday Did Next!), and extra-special thanks to LisaJane who seems to be ahead of me in every ring/ray at the moment and who always adds the most wonderful postcards as an extra...you're a star!
Update 14/3/04
Just got Sarah's journal to say it's landed with her safely, and it clicked that I hadn't journalled yet, yikes!
Bloody brilliant, of course, but you don't need me to tell you that, do you? This was definitely my favourite of the three books - if only for the bit with the speed-camera, which I attempted to read out loud several times (amid much eye-watering and giggling) to my bemused boy - in the end I gave up and promised to buy him a set for Christmas. ;O)
Can't wait for the next installment - roll on July (and my birthday, conveniently enough!) Hurrah!

I received this on Friday from LucyCat. Can't wait to find out what Thursday Next gets up to in this installment. Jasper Fforde's novels set in an alternate universe were a couple of my great reads last year.
Excellent stuff! Thursday Next is suppose to be safe and sound inside an unpublished novel which is pretty dire. However, before she knows it she is on yet another case within the literary world [literally]!!!

This was returned to me after travelling all the way to Sweden and back, the packet was mashed but the book is okay. I am going to PM Silverstone for her address again and re-try sending it.
I picked this one up from the post office a couple of days ago... seems like a good read... thank you talkland!!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
As a part of the Swedish National Book Exchange Day i will release this too long kept book. I am aware of it being part of an old book ring, it was in 2003 though and I didn't deal with that in a good way. (Took part in too many book rings and couldn't handle it due to bad health.) So sorry about that. Better it gets to travel again!
Really, really loved the book!
