I love Edward Gorey, so when I saw that he wrote a book that involved lions (my favourite animal), I couldn't resist buying it. Havijng read it, though, I was somewhat disappointed. Though of course the illustrations were wonderful, this book lacked the rhyming couplets that make Gorey so enjoyable, and there no real plot to speak of.

I met up with the loverly June this past Sunday and she returned this to me. I can pass it on to my nephew now, next time I see him.
