Really looking forward to reading this novel! :)
Currently reading it, I will ask for 727's address.
This novel and its characters will stay with me for a long time...
Not what I expected... but much bettter!
Somehow I thought it might be another English coming-of-age story, while instead I was faced with a dystopic (I've learned a new word!) tale.
The author does not situate this in the future, but gives us an alternative option to what humankind might have achieved through scientific and medical breakthroughs in the 50s.
Just like the characters, we are given information gradual but steadily, and we never get to see the whole picture, which makes it even most disturbing.
Kathy, Ruth and Tommy , those "poor creatures", as someone calls them, take different approaches to their unavoidable fate.
As I said at the beginning, this has made a deep impression in me. I hadn't read anything similar in ages...
Thanks for sharing, Timcorke; it will soon be on its way to 727, in Lithuania.

Sent today to 727, in Lithuania, who is next in this bookray.
The book arrived on Tuesday but I was able to take it only today. I'm always interested in Japanese authors, especially if it's not Haruki Murakami. Will try to read it in a week or two.
This was a lovely book, taking me into an anti-utopia where the higher purpose of creating people is actually a lower purpose. At first glance there was nothing too special about neither about the style nor about the story [only a little bit], but the book seemed to left some kind of trace in me.
I have sorcheen's address, will send the book out some time next week,

Journal Entry 13 by sorcheen at Duisburg, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Wednesday, January 23, 2013
I really enjoyed this novel - much more than I had expected (as I did not like 'The Remains of the Day' too much). 'Never let me go' left a deep impression - it is quiet and thoughtful, yet very disturbing and thought provoking.
I've sent the book on to the UK.
Thank you very much for sharing!
