Well-told tale, a modern classic of juvenile literature, part road trip, part coming-of-age, part family saga. Worth the time of adult readers as well as adolescents'. I got this copy from the clearance shelf at Half Price Books on Westport Road in Louisville, Kentucky, in spring 2012. The binding is a little loose, but it's still in good enough shape to travel at this point. Here's hoping another reader or two will be able to enjoy it. BTW, there are several sequels, and the first, "Dicey's Song," won the Newberry Medal.
