A highly entertaining tour through the teen-centered films of the 1980s and 1990s . . . from high-school comedy/dramas like "The Breakfast Club" and "Say Anything" to science-fiction like "Real Genuius" and "Wargames" . . .
Bernstein writes like your smart-alecky friend who's clever and loves showing off . . . but who you don't mind listening to because he always makes you smile. There's very little of substance in this book (no serious analysis, no behind-the-scenes anecdotes), but his opinions are interesting, substantive, and well-written . . . like somebody poured the contents of their film blog between a set of paperback covers.
