Dr. Lazlo Kreizler, protagonist of The Alienist (LJ 3/1/94), is back with his idiosyncratic companions in Carr's latest mystery thriller. EDIT 12/12/07: I've just finished reading The Alienist so I figured with The Angel Of Darkness sitting here for 3 years, I ought to immediately begin reading tonight! On pg. 4.
EDIT 3/10/08: I'm on Chapter 5, pg. 48. Liking it so far. :)

EDIT 7/26/08: On Chapter 21, pg. 205. Really exciting!
EDIT 9/6/08: On Chapter 25, pg. 246. I've been very slow with Bookcrossing reading this summer. :(
EDIT 10/3/08: On Chapter 27, pg. 264.
EDIT 12/1/08: On Chapter 33, pg. 330. I will try to read the remaining 296 pages before the end of the year! :D
EDIT 4/12/09: On Chapter 34, pg. 338. Couldn't fulfill my wish to finish the book before 2008 ended.
EDIT 6/13/09: Chapter 38, pg. 376. Book's getting better & I'm having less problems with the story crawling slowly.

EDIT 1/8/10: Chapter 43, pg. 435. Book's still crawling but the story's becoming much more interesting. Shame that it took this long.
EDIT 3/27/10: Chapter 47, pg. 485. Story's getting really good now! And only 144 pages to go!
EDIT 3/29/10: Finished the book 2 hours ago. I'm giving it 5 stars because I like the author's historical fiction but this wasn't as good as "The Alienist"; the action only picks up in the latter part of this book & the middle drags. A good editing was needed. Too long.
