Took me a while to get into this but enjoyed the different characters and observations of family interactions whilst on holiday. Am posting this off to Yorkshirelass in the wish list tag game.

Thank you for tagging me with this. It may take me a while to get to it as my TBR pile is massive.
Got to it at last!
I really enjoyed this book, not my usual style, not a murder in sight! An unusual story about a blended family on a weeks holiday in the Welsh border, an area I love.
Very moving, funny and heartbreaking at the same time.

This is now on its way to the winner of the Colour Sweeps, hope you enjoy this and all the other books heading your way :-)
Not sure when this will be posted as I'm in the shielding group and not allowed out to the PO at the moment.

Thank you for the book and tea bags! :)
"Richard, a wealthy doctor, invites his estranged sister Angela and her family to join his for a week at a vacation home in the English countryside. Richard has just re-married and inherited a willful stepdaughter in the process; Angela has a feckless husband and three children who sometimes seem alien to her. The stage is set for seven days of resentment and guilt, a staple of family gatherings the world over."

Unfortunatly, I didn't like this book, nor the writting neither the story, going in all directions.
I gave up at the middle of the book, I just got really bored.

Found it quite hard to remember who's who with all the kids/teenagers and I guess I was hoping for juicier 'ghosts' to rise up, but it was a nice travel read anyway. Still, have liked the other two Mark Haddon books more I think.

Zzzzz...
Even before page 100 I had a gut feeling this was not my cup on tea. Having read two other books from Haddon and liked them (one more than the other) I was expecting something... different maybe. This ended up being quite boring - sometimes just a list of things (maybe that's artistic). I did give up half way thru because there didn't seem to really _happen_ anything, everyone was just complaining. So maybe I missed all the good bits by hopping to the end.
