The Eagle has Landed

A great thriller. Following Mussolini's daring rescue by the SS, Hitler decides Churchill can be abducted and brought to Berlin.
The feasibility study conceived brilliantly by redoubtable Lt. Col. Radel becomes a reality when an IRA killer working for the Abwerh in England reports Churchill's imminent visit to a Bomber Command Unit on the eastern coast.
And so Oberst Kurt Steiner and his handful of crack paratroopers, all under courtmartial for opposing the SS roundup of Jews, are given a chance to redeem themselves. They are parachuted into England and take over a small English town, awaiting the arrive of the Prime Minister.

The book to me is so-so. I'm not really into war books, but I will finish what I start. I am sure I will be surprised and maybe a little more open to the genre by the time I've finished it.
P.S. Found this book on top of a bin on Elizabeth St, Brisbane CBD.
