I love reading about animals, but for me there's always an attraction/repulsion with books like this, because I know that before it ends, one or more of the subjects will pass away. So it took me a longer to get through this than it should have. The book was, however, very interesting, not only because I'd never heard of Scottish Fold cats, but also learning about the day-to-day running of a library. Some of the regular patrons were quirky and enjoyable as well. The cats' personalities and habits were fun to read about, especially their unusual culinary tastes.
And I have a personal soft spot for the names of Baker and Taylor, as when I worked in the accounts receivable department of a publisher, Baker & Taylor was one of our largest accounts. Very appropriate names for library cats!
Jan Louch, who passed away in November 2018 at the age of 87, seemed like the perfect stereotype of a librarian, serious and stoic, very dedicated to her job. I liked that she related some of her personal life, too.
Have tissues ready!

On its way to Poodlesister, along with another book, to fulfill a wish.
Fingers crossed that it arrives safely and within a reasonable time. The USPS is a shambles at the moment.

Thanks very much for the two wishlist books and the other presents! I think my mum will want to read this after I do, if she really likes it she may want to keep it. She has two cats who have kept her company throughout lockdown. She also has two regular cat visitors (one of whom her cats tolerate, the other is not welcomed!).
