I didn't like this one as well as I liked "The Hobbit". This is the edition that was published along with the movie. Has all the text and maps from the original book. Sal

Rec'd this in the mail. Looking forward to finally starting this series. Thanks!

(14 Jun 2004) I read this last month and enjoyed it. Sometimes the dialogue was a little too "dramatic" but not laughably so. Better than the movie (of course) which made some changes (of course.) I am curious to watch the movie again to see if I can catch the differences.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkeness bind them In ancient times the Rings of Power were crafted by the Elven-smiths, and Sauron, The Dark Lord, forged the One Ring, filling it with his own power so that he could rule all others. But the One Ring was taken from him, and though he sought it throughout Middle-earth, it remained lost to him.
