Received with thanks as RABCK!
There is the upper classness and English period drama setting in this book which I'm really not interested in; usually I find the past glories tedious and the characters unrealistic. I remembered half way the book that I saw the film ages ago and hated the characters, they are so naive and pretentious.
However, as Ishiguro is no less than a genius when it comes to his writing, I ended up reading this book with interest and enjoyed the use of language and the subtle insights immensely. I can't imagine how this could be translated to other language without loosing too much, it really was a pleasure to read. Poor Mr Stevens came alive and was wholly believable because of the skilfull narrative.

A great story teller! I very much enjoyed the novel.
I find the book much more interesting than the film, and the film is great!

Time to let this book travel on, its too good to stay in the shelf!
I'm setting the book free in the wild, as part in the a release game on the scandinavian bookcrossing forum "Release books with the theme of the day".
To day is sunday, and the color of sunday is yellow - and yellow is the color of this book.
The book will be found in the forest, on the track close to Klyvebekken. There is a bench for resting close to the little bridge, where you can sit in calm, listening to the bird and the small river. A nice place to be seated also in the remains of the day.
The book will also take part in the challenge on the scandinavian bookcrossser forum "Release a book on a resting place for travelling people"
