Wow, waht a read, no wonder this book is on the top of so many people's sci fi loves. Enders game is not just sci fi, it is a book about leadership and learning how ( good job 'cause I need the help), and a future society that is only at peace because of a common enemy. I am in a bookring for the next in this series which I have jsut started reading and then it will be Children of the Mind, fourth in the series having read Xenicide first.

Thanks Semiotic, hopefully you won't have too long a wait now.

I've finished the book a while back and send it long at the begining of last week so I have to get my comments in before RoryG gets it.

It was very good. I usually read a lot of sci-fi & fantasy and this one got me hook right from the first page.
Still, the ending was a bit disappointing. My feeling was that the author tried to push some symbolism (like the end of Space Odyssey) or some food for though, but somehow it didn't felt right.

Thanks for sharing FiBe!

Got it. I got it few days ago, but I couldn't get to the internet earlier. I'm swamped with bookrings at the moment, but I try to get to this soon.

Journal Entry 16 by RoryG from Bluemont, Virginia USA on Monday, December 12, 2005
I just finished this late last night. I just couldn't put it down once I started it. I really connected with Ender. I wouldn't say that I'm as brilliant as he but there are some similarities. The only thing that I didn't like so much was the ending. I think the writer could've just left the book with Ender starting a new life. I think I might try what the next book of the series is like.

Well, I'll send this off as soon as I get the next person's address.

Edit 19.12.2005: I left it at the post office on 17.12.2005, sorry for the delay.

Journal Entry 17 by MissGrace from Anderson, South Carolina USA on Friday, December 30, 2005
Received, Thanks RoryG. I'm almost finished with my current book, so I will be able to start reding in the next couple of days.

13 JAN 2006 *UPDATE* I finished this book yesterday with mixed feelings. I didn't much care for it when I first started reading. I had a very difficult time getting passed the idea that Ender was only 6 years old; I just couldn't imagine children so young behaving the way they did. But as I continued to read I was able to suspend those beliefs (this was science fiction afterall) and started enjoying the book. I admit I kind of skimmed over the techical, military "stuff" when battles were being decribed because I found it boring and didn't understand it anyway. So there were parts where I was a little lost and wished I had paid a little more attention to what I was reading. Over all I did like this book and have a couple of people in mind that I would definatley recommend it to.

Thanks for including me and will send it on to the next person ASAP.

"Enders Game" arrived in New Hampshire yesterday. Along with 3 other bookring books. Why do they always arrive all at the same time? This one is going to the top of my TBR pile.

Journal Entry 20 by efs300 from -- By post or by hand --, South Carolina USA on Saturday, February 4, 2006
Finished this book last night. Once I go 'into' it I could not put it down. A very good sci-fi book. I would agree with several of the other that the author had a good ending and tried to add just a little to much to the end. But I also might add the next book in the series to my wish list as it was a ery good book overall. I have FortyToo's address and will get this book in the mail on Monday. Thanks to FiBe for sharing this book.

Arrived safely. I should finish the book I'm currently reading tonight, and this will be the very next thing I read.

Journal Entry 23 by FortyToo from Westfield, New Jersey USA on Thursday, February 16, 2006
Wow! I can understand why this is at the top of so many lists. Am recommending to practically every sci-fi fan I know.

P.S. I hate to disagree with other bookcrossers, but I liked the ending.

Thank you for sharing this FiBe. It will be on its way to Chrisim in Finland tomorrow!

Journal Entry 25 by chrisim from Tampere, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Monday, March 20, 2006
Me too liked this book. I'm not a sci-fi fan but as I heard so many people praise this book I wanted to read it. Now I can recommend it too! The intelligent children were good and vivid characters. It took me some time to take in the military language. I'm also hopeless what comes to thinking in three dimensionally, so the battleroom scenes were difficult to understand; which direction was up and who came from where. I really had to concentrate! The book was interestingly written. The plot was easy to follow and some twists were easy too guess, but not too early, I must say. Because this is well written. The two last chapters had so many events that I was afraid the end would be too self-evident. But it did surprise after all (in last pages).

The story was somewhat sad but still optimistic in the end. But I don't hope a future life like that for our children or their childen.

Thanks FiBe so much for starting this bookring. I will mail the book to redjanet tomorrow.
