I read this book in high school and it is the most influential piece of literature that I have ever come across.

People always ask me why I am so concerned about women's rights. This book is the reason why. It’s the biggest reason I am so vigilant for anything that can threaten my rights.

Say I overreact, say I don’t see the big picture, say I shouldn’t concern myself with things that don’t necessarily involve me. Say what you will, but it’s a slippery slope. Lose one right and maybe another and where does it stop? I cannot help but concern myself with these things.

I hope by giving this book to you to read that you too will see why these issues mean so much to me and hopefully to you.

I had mentioned in the site-watch forum that a journal entry made on someone's copy of this book sounded fantastic, and I was going to see about getting myself a copy. Next thing I know, Kymberlie is offering to send me hers! Thanx! I'm really looking forward to reading this!

A truely enjoyable book. I quickly became emersed in the story, and when I wasn't reading, I could just hear the book calling me back.
The woman's thoughts give real insight into what she is experiencing. And how easy it could be for something like this to happen. Frighteningly easy. I don't think I will ever look at my debit card the same way again. I can also see why some people have tried banning this book, considering book-banning is one of the issues brought up in the story.
Definently a must read for all women!

Giving this book to my daughter to read. I think the book has important lessons in it. I had a couple of second thoughts because of sexual content, but figured it's very impersonal and not graffic, and at almost 17, she's heard worse at school.
