Thanks to mawolf I found this voluminous book on my mailbox today. It was accompanied by a book about Buddhism. Does this mean anything?

I'll try to read it real soon, and since I'm suffering from a bad cold (which means I have lots of time to spend with reading), I think I'll be starting reading it by tomorrow. I'll let you know my opinion about the novels, when I've finished studying them.

Update:
January 19th 2004
I've already read 440 pages of this volume, and it's really entertaining. But it takes its time to read it... - I'll try to keep on reading at least 10 to 20 pages per day!

Journal Entry 3 by Zoe1971 from Köln, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Friday, March 5, 2004
This volume is 754 pages of reading fun! I'm sorry it took me quite a while to finish reading it, but the book is kind of bulky. So you can't take it everywhere you go and read it for example on your way to and from work.

The volume contains three DISCWORLD novels, all of them dealing with one of the main DISCWORLD protagonists, Death. Or better: dealing with the problems that arise if Death isn't there to do his job properly. In the first novel MORT Death is having an apprentice an looking forward to handing over his business. In the second one REAPER MAN, Death is being fired and his important public service is withdrawn. This is when the Death of Rats comes to life. The third one SOUL MUSIC is about Death' granddaughter Susan who has to take over Death' affairs while Death is trying his luck at the Foreign Legion.

It's worth reading, even if English is not your mother tongue. There's so many jokes left in this book and you won't stop laughing while reading.

I'll be sending it off to Herrundmeyer today.

Arrived today. Thanks for passing this huge book on!
I already know Mort, so I can skip a third of the book and go directly in medias res.
Will report back as soon as I'm done.

Most amusing!
I must say that I liked "Soul Music" better than "Reaper Man", but still both are brilliant stories! There are a lot of puns in both of them, and the occasional footnotes.
Highly entertaining!

The Death Trilogy arrived today...just as I am done with "To Kill a Mockingbird", which is another bookring I take part in. Excellent timing! But this trilogy is rather a huge volume....might take me a little time to finish it. I will try to be reasonably quick about it, thou. Thanks Herrundmeyer!

Update 28.04.04:
Sorry for keeping this book so long....but it was a very entertaining read! I liked the first volume, "Mort", best of all, but they are all very funny to read. I just *love* the idea about Death owning a horse called Binky and getting an apprentice and leaving his job to go and work on a farm...those stories are absolutely weird and funny. Pity that it is such a big book, thou... I like to carry books around with me wherever I go so that I can use the time I have to wait at the dentist, the bus stop etc. to read. But this book was just too uncomfortable to take along. It will be sent to elhamisabel as soon as I get the address.

The Death Trilogy arrived savely today. Thanks a lot buecherfresser!
Will try to read it as soon and and as fast as possible. I've got another bookray here with me so it may take a few more days until I start this one. Please be patient :)

Puh! I needed 15 days to finish these 754 pages because I've been very busy lately.

Anyway, Mort ist definitely my favourite of the three novels. I just adore Death and I'm glad I had the chance to read these three novels staring him.

This book will be send on to dorle on Tuesday.

Wui, today the book reached me in Berlin. I'm really lokking foreward to read it, but firstly I have to finish a book for school...
But I don't think that this will take so much time.
The first look at the book gave me a little shok, I mean it is quite heavy and big... Let's see what I'll think about it afterwards
