Received the book today. This will be my 3rd Iris Johansen novel. I plan on reading it as soon as I'm finished reading Loaded and Remember When. Thanks for the trade!

Ok I finished reading this last night. No One To Trust is a very quick and fast-paced read. It's a bit like watching an episode of 24...where there is a continuous flow of events and underlying sense of urgency even when things seem calm.

Loved the Elena Kyler character. Galen was tres cool. They made a fantastic pair in this novel. Normally, I hate action/suspense books with kids in them but I did find Barry adorable. Chavez was a scuzzy villain you could really grow to hate. As for Judd Morgan....I didn't like his character at all. He wasn't so much a real character as he was a "plot device", something to add more drama to the ending. He was far too elusive and calm to be taken seriously. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in a future Johansen novel...his presence in No One To Trust is just screaming "sneak peek at future hero".

So overall I really liked this one. But I still think it has the same flaw that all of Johansen's books seem to have(or at least the ones I've read). That is...too many tough and stubborn characters! If too many characters have a confrontational personality it becomes a bit grating on the nerves. I love tough/strong characters in my novels, but I don't expect to see them everywhere.

Available for Trade or possibly RABCK.
