Journal Entry 1 by Starry-Starry from Llandrindod Wells, Wales United Kingdom on Wednesday, October 1, 2003
Not one of Robert Goddard's best books, but excellent nonetheless. He always writes well and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me reading. I think it was the characters in this one that let it down a little. They weren't as interesting in this one as in some.
Synopsis:
Two charming tricksters are on their way back to Britain on a luxury liner when they meet Diana Charnwood, only child of the wealthy Fabian Charnwood. As is their modus operandi they decide to trick the woman into agreeing to an engagement and then wait for her father to pay them off. But this time things don't go according to plan, they let their hearts rule their heads and a violent death finds its way into their scheme. Then they stumble into something much darker and deeper than either had suspected.
Going in Loopy1's mystery/thriller bookbox.

Just thought I'd mention - DH took this one out of the bookbox and read it, and now it's going back in to the next reader. I would have read it myself but it's a case of too many books, too little time, and I do want to get the box back on the road :-)
I have just received this in the UK mystery bookbox set up by loopy1.
I have never read anything written by Robert Goddard so I may give this a try. I am also registering this book to find out what happens to it once I send the book box out again. If anybody would like this while the book is still in my custody, it will be available for trade (I will replace it with an equivalent mystery book in the box if that should happen).
