Jennifer Plecas is a whimsical illustrator and her depiction of little Harriet is incredibly cute. Purple cowboy boots, pink tutu, and gold belt. What a cute little outfit. Her curly red hair is fun too. Using minimalism, the illustrator focuses on the message and presents it in a cute and appealing way.

The author is clever too. She has captured the voice of this intelligent and loveable little girl. Even her character shines through. This is a perfect book for character education and manners development.
