Front Flap:
"At the age of five, Ola was torn away from a safe and happy foster home in Hastings and taken back to live with her real parents in London. It was the start of a nightmare. Forced to adapt without warning to a new life with people she did not know, Ola found herself the victim of unending abuse. No love was shown to her by either parent. Instead she was beaten almost daily, and often left to cope alone with a younger sister and brother and a mountain of household tasks. Unable to confide in anyone at school, she learnt how to lie to cover up for her parents, even in the face of severe injury and hospitalization. She could see no way out of her desperate situation. How would she survive? This is the true and shocking story of her experiences."

I may have won this copy on GoodReads First Reads Giveaways - but this review is all my own opinion.

This book may be short, but it contains a very heartbreaking true story. The abuse this poor lady suffered as a child, at the hands of her parents is simply told but sickening to read. How she survived it and grew up to forgive them is a miracle. But I'm glad she did and was able to share her story to educate others and, I sincerely hope to help put a stop to children being abused. People do need to speak out about this because silence will not stop it. I think the words in 'Final Comments' is very good advice. Thank you for sharing your story, I am very interested to read your next book about your life in Nigeria (when it is published).
