This very good condition paperback was rescued from a library sale to become a Bookcrossing book.

From my reviewed copy:
//////////////////////////////////////
I finished this and am still thinking about it.
-A world that "could be" given certain circumstances.
-A world where men use the Bible to justify the terrible.
-A world against women that is beyond my ability to fathom.
-A world of hate, oppression, and dogma

I am still chilled by the scenes of the schooling the Handmaids were subjected to, which Atwood gives to us in flashbacks.

This is an extremely thoughtful (though sometimes explicit) book that any adult interested in women's issues should read, rather than see the movie.

Hit the bonanza at Mr. Toads today. The pickins at that location had become rather slim.
Thanks, Vysion

picked this up a couple of months ago but forgot to journal it. Always wanted to read it but it was not as good as I expected. Now I will release it.

I was fascinated by this book,and its message. I found it to be a little confusing, and wished that the author had pinned down the timeframe a little better, and given us some idea of the events and years it took to get to this regime. I hope I can find the movie......

Released back go JavaBlu.
