Making Money

(Discworld Novels)
The sequel to "Going Postal": after getting the post office to run smoothly, Moist von Lipwig starts to become bored. But the elderly owner of the Royal Bank makes an interesting testament: Moist inherits the dog who was her pet, and one % of the shares... and the dog inherits 50 % of the shares. And Vetinari tasks him with changing from coins with the gold content of seawater to a more practical kind of money. But there's something strange about the Chief cashier Mr. Brent. There's a mad scientist (a nephew) working on an economic computer model in the cellar of the bank. Somebody from Moist's past turns up. And the clan of bank owners starts plotting against Moist.
So his life becomes very exciting again, with a chance of getting killed...
A very funny, exciting, explanation of how paper money and banks today work, written before the financial crisis struck (but when it was already visible on the horizon). Interesting new characters are introduced, and Pratchetts main concerns are as strong as his humour.
RES for Wishlists.

Thank you noname-blue! =) I love Pratchett and his characters and I can't wait to read this. Though I have to read some other books first, my tbr pile is too huge...
I've read lot of books written by Pratchett, but this is the first time I've had the pleasure to meet Mr Lipwig. =) He's a really charming character and I'd love to read more about him. Good thing I have lots of Pratchett in my tbr-pile, 'cause I really love his books. =)
I'll send this to the winner of a monthly lottery.

For a reason I do not know, Pratchett's books work on a level I just cannot reach. I've tried and tried but once again I couldn't get a hold of it... I might have to give up. Weird. So so weird.
