To Kill a Mockingbird

Books read fall into many categories, enjoyable, educational, classics, quick reads, boring... and so the list goes on. But not many fall into a very special category - Beloved friends. This book is for me one of those very special books. I read it first in my teens and always had fond memeories of it. Now again after 40 years or more, to re-read it was like meeting up again with an old beloved school friend.. This is one of those books most definitely deserving of being in the 1001 books to read before you die...

Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did...
The book arrived today. I should get to it fairly soon. Thanks for sharing this book that I've wanted to read for a long time, oppem!
My son was ill and then I caught his cold and had to spend a few days on the sofa. This book was just the right book for those days. Not too fast paced but still interesting. I really enjoyed it. Though the main purpose of the book was probably to draw attention to the black and white issue or to portrait life in the rural south in the 1930s, what caught my attention most was the way Atticus was parenting his children. I am totally impressed by how he was able to teach his children so much at a young age.
Thank you for sharing the book, oppem! I already contacted the next reader and will mail the book off as soon as I have their address.
