I wish I hadn't seen the film first as it spoiled some of the unfolding drama of the book. When I saw the film I was in Hamilton NZ, on holiday with a friend after horrible earthquakes in Christchurch, but didn't realise until AFTER the shaking during the movie that there was a railway line under the movie theatre. I like the book, it leaves a lot to your own imagination, and deals delicately with the situation.
