This was an interesting book. There is the policeman somewhere in the whole picture but the main character is a caterer and one of the basic elements is food!!

A senior student from the local school is found dead during a feast where Goldy was catering. Crazy parents and pressed children, who have to take decisions about their studies. Common every day life of a single mother and school life. Because the narration is done through Goldy, it is a more down-to-earth story than most mystery/thriller books I have read lately. And all the story goes around food. The amazing part of the book is that it includes the recipes of the food Goldy is preparing!!!

This was the first book I've read from this series and I really liked it! I think it did not matter that I haven't read the earlier parts, it was still easy enough to follow the events and who is who. The plot was good and the characters were interesting. However, I'm not sure what to think of the fact that Goldy detests licorice... oh well, nobody's perfect :D
