The Geography of Bliss: One Grump's Search for the Happiest Places in the World

The subtitle of this book intrigued me, so it has been on my wishlist for quite a while. When I saw it at the library book sale for $1, I happily snarfed it up.
An interesting look at the science of happiness and the places that seem to be the happiest. The summary at the end, about there being more than one path to happiness, makes sense given the diverse philosophies embraced by the nations studied here. I enjoyed the tourist aspect of the book as well as the happiness component, and came out with an understanding of some of the appeal of the places involved for travelers as well as expats.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control." -- Paul Auster
Taking this book with me to meet-up in Dupont Circle -- hoping one of the other BCinDC folks is willing to take it home.

Picked up yesterday at the BC-in-DC meeting!
This is a very good book. I enjoyed "traveling" with the author as he visits the different countries, especially his times in Iceland, Switzerland, and Bhutan.
Releasing at the annual BC_in_DC "First Lines" Holiday Party!
