A strange story, written by Candida Wilton, the heroin of the book. Divorced from her husband and estranged from her three daughters, she moved to London and got herself a laptop. Sitting in her little appartment, she starts typing her diary. That is part I of the book.
The second part is about the journey to North Africa she is to undertake with five friends, old and new, and their superb guide Valeria.
Part 3 is a step sideways, seemingly written by her daughter after Candidas death, but part 4 reveals this was only a try to write from a different perspective.
I must say I liked the first part best, with the (hi)story slowly emerging and Candida with it. The story about the trip is less interesting, too shallow to be really interesting. And the last two parts were disappointing, so though I really enjoyed reading the first half of the book, once departed on their journey the ladies did not really inspire any more.

Just received this book, will read it sometime, don't know when exactly, but looking forward to it.
Read this book during my holiday in Cuba, enjoyed mostly the first part, just like you jgralike!
But it was a nice read...left the book in Cuba, hope it will be found!
