Releasing at Dublin 2012 convention.
I took this book on the second day of the bookcrossing convention of the book table.
I would't say I am a Jane Austen addict- I usually find back into reality ;-)
This edition is a hardcover, the weight is about 400g.

Courtney Stone is a 30 year old woman who is addicted to the novels of Jane Austen. She reads them all the time: when she feels lonely, when she is sad, when she has a crisis, when she need a friend,...
And one day she wakes up in a Jane-Austen-Kind-Of-World as the unmarried daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield. She tries to find her way in this dream, espacially tries to find her way back to L.A. 21st century. But then she gets to know Mr. Edgeworth, the goodlooking unmarrierd neighbour...
She learns a lot about the world she just knows from novels: the smell, when people only take a bath once a week, what did women do, when they had their period, how it is to be served the whole day, how ist is not to be allowed to take a single step on her own,...
At the end Courtney dosn't really know wether she is Courtney or if she is Jane. And she isn't quite sure in which world she wants to wake up.
You will have to find out by yourself ;-)
This book is more serious than I expected, but I still had quite some fun.

I just asked in the German Forum, because I have lots of JaneAustenSpinOffs which like to travel and I found some interested readers for this book as well :-)
So it's gonna be a RAY. Maybe one day it will travel international? Well, at least it's on quite some wishlists ;-) *dream*
- luanalara
- Tiikeri
- Urfin
And now the book may travel whereever it likes :-)

5.7.2012: Well, definitely not a must. I actually started skimming some pages in the middle, because Courtney/Jane was kind of repetitive in her thoughts and also annoyed me - yes, I know that you would like some make up, but please just deal with it! Also, I really didn't get why she always had to go against the conventions of that time - she has read Austen's books hundreds of times, but is still totally surprised that she as a woman has to be very careful with her behaviour? At times I felt like reading mediocre fanfiction where some modern girl lands in a Jane Austen book (it can be done very well, but here it just didn't grab me). The ending felt kind of rushed.
It's an okay book to while away a few hours or imagine how it would be like in Austen's world.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
And the book travels on to its next reader. Enjoy! :)
Arrived here today and will be read as soon as I'm done with my current book.
August 8, 2012:
This started really well and I enjoyed about two thirds of it a lot. But then the story became a little too weird for my taste, and the ending didn't satisfy me at all. Somehow it left the impression that the author herself couldn't figure out her plot anymore ...
August 13,2012:
The book is on its way to Urfin.
September 3,2012:
The book came back to me today ... Will contact Urfin to figure out what went wrong.
September 6,2012:
The book is on its way again. Hopefully it will reach the right destination this time.

When I opened the envelope I immediately started reading but checked myself... I already have two books in the currently-reading stack...
