I got this softcover from the Used Book Superstore in Burlington MA. It's about an international figure-skating star who's depending on a magical phrase from his friend Chitose; without it he can't land his quad jumps! It's an improbable premise, but the story introduces it reasonably enough - and then jumps to a situation where Chitose's job takes her away just when Kokoro's got a big competition coming up. His realization that he's become too reliant on the "magic" looks as if it'll take the story in a different direction.

And then there's the question of whether the long-time friends have any romantic possibilities - or if Chitose's boss Sawada might be a love-interest for one or the other of them...

There's a lot of bonus material about competitive ice skating terms, scoring rules, and more.

I left this book in the Little Free Library on this rainy day; hope someone enjoys it!
