It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.I Am Not Esther
2 journalers for this copy...
I bought this for a $1 today at Borders.
This didn't take long to read. I started it late last night and finished it before falling asleep. Although the language is simplistic, it was a good read.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
If you are the finder of this book, welcome to the site. Please make a journal entry so that I know it has been picked up and found. To do so is free and you can do it anonymously. You can read the book or not, keep it, pass it on to someone else you think might enjoy it, or leave it in a public place like I did.
Thank you, guinaveve, for this surprise book along with The Runaway book. You are too kind! Did you see on my booklist that I have been reading books like this lately? It looks interesting.
Your package made my day! So sorry it took so long to JE, as I have been moving.
Again, THANK YOU!!! :-)

Overall, I liked the story. Just as guinaveve stated, it's a story of Kirby who suddenly finds herself trust into a religous cult. It's nice to see a story about a strong teen, one who was determined to not lose her identity. She did lose herself a little, but regaining herself back made her stronger in the end.
Two things I didn't like....
(1) Kirby drops a curse word that, in my opinion, is one of the worst, and does it quite often. I have taken the liberty of marking them out. Yes, you can still figure out what she is saying, but at least the word is staring someone in the face. Some might consider me the freak for doing that, but that's okay too! ;-)
(2) I never could determine for sure where the story was taking place. I assumed right away that the story did not take place in the USA, due to the lingo being used. New Zealand was finally mentioned later in the book, and I've googled at least two town names to determine that the story probably takes place in New Zealand.
Those two things aside, the story kept me interested from page 1. (With some books, the language has caused me to quit early in the game. I so badly wanted to find out what happened to Kirby and her mother, that I kept going!)
I'm not sure how I am going to release this yet. Definitely worth reading, especially for those interested in kid/teen lit.
Thanks again to guinaveve for sharing!
