Thank you for the wishlist book! :) I've never read a Stephen King book....can you belive that!? I've seen like a million of the film and tv versions tho. I didn't rate The Shining film like everyone else does, it's okay but not scary. Which is why I wanted to read the book to see if I could get the scareyness out of it that other people seem to feel.

I didn't find this book scary at all but I did enjoy it and it is better than the film. So much more is explanied in the book. The hotel seems to come to life more, rather than it just being Jack gone nuts. One thing that bothered me was that Jack was unhinged slighty, a drunk and prone to random acts of violence that it seems he would have done these things without the help of the hotel. Like he was an accident waiting to happen so maybe we didn't need the evil thing that dies in the fire. I think the film goes with the Jack thing more. I don't remember, I haven't watched it in a while. This was my first King, looking forward to reading many more.

2011-09-23 => This arrived safely in the mail. Thanx a bunch!
2022-03-06 => Just finished this guy. Not as creepy as I expected. Still weird, though. I don't remember the movie much. Been too many decades since I saw it. There are differences, though, from what I do recall.
