This was a most enjoyable book and left me wanting to read more. It really echoed the style of the famous Ladies Detective Agency books, and I think I may even like it more. Isabel, Jamie and Cat were all very likeable characters and I enjoyed the insite into their personal lives as much as the main story of the murder investigation, which ticked along quite slowly. I did skim the occasional descriptive paragraph to try and move the story on a little quicker but that is my only complaint.
I have the sequel in hardback waiting to be read and I am sure I won't wait long to read it.
I was on a bookring/ray for this book and I have offered to Molyneux who started it to offer the book to the remaining participants.

This arrived in the psot today. I think I won it in a bookswap, but I can't remember, so I went to have a look on the BCUK extra site, and it wasn't there, then I had a vague recollection about bookswaplive, so had a look there, and there it was. I'm happy to send it as a ring, if someone wants to send me a list of names.
Started this today. I used it on a sunday bookswaplive, and will be passing it to Teachie at the uncon.
I did not find this as engaging as the no 1 ladies detective agency series, and agree that the main story ticked along quite slowly. I stopped after 93 pages, as it was not gripping me.

This is going to Camis who won it in the S swap on bcuk_extra.
Thank you teachie. And thank you also for the generous donation to the British Heart Foundation - much appreciated.
Hmm, found this quite slow and it didn't really encourage me to read any more in the series. It was well-written but the story just didn't really seem to go anywhere and the end was a bit of a let down for me.
Will try and find a more appreciative reader soon!

Received as one of the BCUK exchange books. I've read all of the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency books but haven't got round to this series yet.
