It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.Clouds of Witness

Picked up from the exchange shelf of the Library of Arabia, Helsinki. The book has travelled a long way, because it has been bought from Naples for 1700 lira in 1977. It's on LittleSuz's wishlist and I'll be off to Edinburgh in June.
Thank you kirjakko! I'll look forward to reading this. I love the fact that this copy has travelled so widely.
This might be my favourite Wimsey story so far. It's a great example of his cleverness - but also of his emotional detached nature. Whereas other famous detectives like Poirot are horrified, disgusted, saddened, or worried by the nature of crimes they investigate, Wimsey regards the whole thing as a bit of a game. This applies even when the murdered man was his sister's fiancé, and the main suspect his own brother! I find him a fascinating (though not particularly likeable) character.
The plot in Clouds of Witness is driven by the fact that there are so many characters behaving suspiciously, each for their own motives. Every time Wimsey and Parker think they've stumbled onto a breakthrough development, it only makes everything even more complicated. This was fun to read, and made the ending all the more satisfying.

Quite a complicated story, which was resolved nicely in the end. Quite amusing at times.

Clouds of Witness by Dorothy L Sayers - Very Good
Lord Peter Wimsey is recalled from holiday to Riddlesdale Lodge where his brother, sister and other friends and family have gathered to hunt and shoot. Unfortunately his sister's fiance is found dead and his brother has been arrested for the murder.
Lord Peter and his man Bunter (alongside Inspector Parker) immediately begin investigations to prove his brother's innocence and bring the right man...or woman... to justice.
Beautifully constructed mystery.
